Round The Horn came about through the need for an open studio event in Central Scotland. However we wanted to keep things local and on a small scale so that we could manage our events easily.

We called ourselves Round The Horn in part because we hoped visitors would enjoy following a creative trail around Kinghorn.

We held our unique inaugural event in 2012. Venues were marked out on a map/leaflet which we distributed locally and people had the opportunity to enter a prize draw if they visited each location marked on the map. There was one lucky winner whose name was drawn out of a hat at the end of the day and they received a Christmas stocking full of beautiful items from the artists and makers involved. This event was so successful and we received such amazing feedback from visitors that we decided to make it an annual event.

There were originally 9 venues dotted around Kinghorn for people to visit - these venues belonged to the artists involved - studios, shops and galleries. To make things a little more interesting, a few venues invited an artist to exhibit with them. These visiting artists came from beyond Kinghorn and it's our aim to have a different line up of visiting artists each year to keep things fresh and interesting for visitors.

We hope to expand our repertoire further, as we don't just want to be be a "one event per year" artists collective! We are now making plans for a spring event to be held in 2017 with corporate funding from KAMES - please see our news page for more information.
