What's Happening in 2013?

And the winner is?

November 2013

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Advent Calendar Trail around Kinghorn today. As you know, if you got your leaflet stamped at each of our 11 venues, you will have been entered into our prize draw.

We all headed to the Station Gallery after shutting up shop and popped open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate another successful event. We gathered together all the completed leaflets that were handed in and randomly picked one leaflet out of a hat. We are happy to announce that our lucky winner this year, who gets a massive Christmas Stocking full of creative goodies all to herself is Rachael Malcolm!

Racheal Malcolm winner of our Round The Horn Advent Calendar Prize Draw 2013

The stocking was delivered the following day which happened to be Rachael's birthday so that made us even more delighted that she'd won! Well done for completing the entire trail and we hope you enjoy all your lovely stocking fillers!

Warming our cockles by the fire...

November 2013

We did another fun photoshoot this morning for the press. Catherine came up with yet another fab idea, this time to focus on our fantastic festive stocking full of handmade goodies. All the artists/makers involved in Round The Horn - that's 16 creative folk this year - have put a gift into this stocking and everyone who completes our entire advent calendar trail on Saturday and hands in their completed leaflet, will be entered into our prize draw to win it.

Cleaning up. All our lovely artwork had to be washed off once we were done.

The stocking will be on display in the Station Gallery on Saturday, along with a list of all the lovely goodies it contains.

Chalking Around...

October 2013

If you were anywhere near Kinghorn Station on the 23rd of October, you might have witnessed a brief but brilliant work of art come and go in what felt like the blink of an eye. Catherine came up with a great idea for a press photo using a wall and some chalk and lots of creative flair.

We had tons of fun creating this:

That was turned into this (photo by Andy Menzies):

But being the good citizens that we are, we cleaned up after ourselves and soon all the fun and frolics disappeared and all that was left was a dull boring wall.

Cleaning up. All our lovely artwork had to be washed off once we were done.

2013 Leaflets back from the printer!

October 2013

Round The Horn Leaflet 20131500 leaflets picked up from the printers yesterday. This year we've gone for a four-fold leaflet that allows for plenty of room for our new map and venue information as well as 2 panels of images of work from everyone involved. Also included is an entry form for our prize draw.

Leaflets will be distributed door to door locally and further afield as well as be available to pick up at certain venues in Kinghorn from the end of October onwards.

More information on the homepage.

Round the Horn website goes live!

September 2013

Evie Milo has not only been hard at work getting this years leaflet to print, she's also been taking any spare moment she has to get this website up and running. We wanted something simple, easy to use that's informative as well.

The website will hopefully keep you up to date with all the events we will be running every year as well as act as a creative directory of local artists and makers. We've included an Artists Directory section to showcase everyone who has ever been involved with Round the Horn and this section will be added to each year. We're still waiting on a few folk to fill in some gaps here and there, but it's nearly finished.

2013 Leaflet Coming Soon!

September 2013

Our 2013 leaflet for 'Round the Horn at Christmas' is nearly complete and ready to go to print. Distribution locally in Fife will start in October, so look out for our lovely four-fold leaflet landing on your doorstep soon.

Evie Milo is our resident designer when it comes down to getting our leaflets sorted. She's been hard at work collecting and colating images and text and liasing with our printers in Levenmouth.

Catherine Lindow has produced some stunning visuals for the leaflet with a beautiful map of our new trail showing all 11 venues featured this year.

We've also included a small image from each artist involved so that you can get a taste of what you will discover at each venue on the day of the event.

We will have plenty of leaflets available on the day (16th November) as well, so you'll be able to pick one up at any of the venues involved if you don't get one posted through your door.
